CHURCH MUSICIANS SUMMER INSTITUTE is four days of intense training by talented clinicians and interaction with other musicians. Now in its 21th year. C.M.S.I. offers a unique educational experience for established and beginner church musicians alike. Who benefits most by this four day seminar?

• Any person asked to play organ whose musical training did not include the organ. This four days of concentrated organ training can move a person a giant step forward on how to play the organ properly and towards understanding the use of its voices to support worship in an effective way!
   
• Piano students, to experience a potential expanded area for their keyboard expertise. To many peoples surprise, church organ sales have been one of the fastest sales growth area of the music industry for 3 consecutive years. This can mean increased future opportunity for those prepared for it.
   
• Keyboard players, the new church organs with MIDI give instant, multiple keyboards for synth sounds. Being familiarized with the organ, its sound, how it plays, and how it uses MIDI sound can be an added bonus and offers musical enhancement to the progressive- minded keyboard player.

Your Primary Organ Clinician

Mr. Ken Edgington

Received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He studied both organ and trumpet. He played with the Springfield Symphony for three years, and has held the position of principle organist at a number of churches, including Madeira Presbyterian Church in Cincinnati, Ohio, Westwood Lutheran Church in Dayton, Ohio and St. Paris Methodist Church. He enjoys composition, arranging, recording, as well as tending his 600 tree commercial cherry orchard in Kalispell, Montana area. He brings an informative, down-to-earth and enjoyable approach to his seminars.
